Lawyers Waiting in the Wings - Heavily Promoted Pharmaceuticals Taking Fire

The latest drug alerts to come in are on Avandia, Fosomax, Boniva, Actonel, Reclast, and the anti-psychotic drug, Seroquel. The ambulance chasers are burning up the internet looking for the hapless victims of these overly marketed drugs.

Avandia, an FDA approved drug for type 2 diabetes has generated a 30% to 40% increased risk of heart attack in those taking them short term (6 months). If you are taking Avandia now, discuss this with your doctor immediately. And if your doctor isn't aware of this, direct him to the FDA, which has received a pooled study from the manufacturers attesting to this.

The bisphosponates (Fosomax, Boniva, Actonel, and Reclast), increase the odds of those taking these drugs to develop atrial fibrillation. This is an erratic and sometimes life threatening heart rhythm that often produces blood clots and other complications.

And the very latest warning cites Seroguel, an anti-psychotic drug. Astra-Zeneca, the maker of the drug is currently being sued in the U.S. by nearly 10,000 users. This overly promoted drug is producing severe weight gain and diabetes.

And what is the FDA doing about all this? I'll bet you've already guessed. You're right. Nothing! Perhaps they're afraid of the American Bar Association, whose members are having a really great time with all all these lawsuits, active and pending. It seems that the FDA is afraid of everyone except us beleaguered taxpayers who have to foot the bill for their inaction anyway.

One of the sorry facts of life is that no one needs to take Fosomax or any of the other bisphosphonate drugs. There are excellent natural supplement formulations out there that work at least as well, without the formidable negative side effects. And if you think the side effects are not formidable, try getting a tooth implant after you've been on one of these bisphosphonates for a while.

CHELATION NAYSAYERS OUT IN FULL FORCE

There is a whole lot of flap going around about the worthlessness and downright danger of Chelation Therapy. Deaths attributed to chelation are cited. Ineffectiveness and downright quackery are claimed. In their desperation to discredit this safe, highly effective procedure, the conflicting commercial interests dug around until they found a case where a patient died while undergoing chelation by being administered the wrong drug! Now that is a real stretch.
What has this to do with chelation? Patients are killed in hospitals every day by being administered the wrong drug! It happens all the time, and as long as the family can be billed for it, what's the harm? Suddenly a single case out of millions makes the headlines. Any of the other arguments against chelation can be just as easily blown away like smoke in the wind.

Some government studies of chelation have recently been dropped. Why? Could it possibly be that the results were pointing the wrong way? They set out to prove that chelation was worthless and were disappointed when the data came in. Really! Would our government do that to US?

HERE'S SOMETHING INTERESTING. THE MAYO CLINIC HAS POSTED AN ARTICLE PANNING CHELATION AND ON THE SAME PAGE THEY'RE RUNNING
A BIG BANNER AD FOR - I bet you guessed it - CRESTOR!

Claims have been made that chelation can cause hypocalcemia and renal failure. True! But easily avoided. Every chelating physician knows of this and other dangers involved with IV Chelation Therapy and takes painstaking precautions to avoid any negative events. Chelating physicians are very aware that the eyes of the surgery business are upon them and any slip up will result in the wolves howling on their thresholds, demanding an end to the procedure that is keeping millions of dollars from reaching their pockets.

A good, unbiased article on chelation can be found at http://www.blueshieldca.com. They tell you what they know, which is limited. As far as it goes, the article is accurate.

One caveat! There are a lot of oral chelation products cropping up all over the place, all claiming miraculous benefits available with their use, without the need for a doctor and the inconvenience of IV infusions. On this subject we say, watch out!

One product currently being pushed is composed of 100% EDTA. This is most definitely something to keep away from unless it's been prescribed by your doctor. EDTA is nothing to fool around with on your own!

There are a lot of natural, everyday and readily available foods, vitamins, and minerals that are highly effective chelating agents, the lowly garlic being one of them. EDTA is not an absolutely necessary component for effective chelation provided you have the extra time it will take to clear your arteries. For prevention and long term clearing, given the luxury of time, it is actually best to stay away from EDTA. One product we know of that gives outstanding results and is entirely safe is a product called Cardio-Klenz, available here.
