BIG PHARMA HAS THE FDA IN ITS POCKET

They can't find the source of a tomato contamination that has sickened hundreds of people across the country, but they're very adept at restricting the use of safe and effective treatments for a host of illnesses if they prove to be against the best (read fiduciary) interests of the big pharmaceuticals.

Asleep and impotent to find the source of a real problem, the FDA was briefly aroused from its stupor by a "citizen's petition" filed by none other than the giant Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, who see lost profits when women chose to use BHRT (bio-identical hormone replacement therapy)
in place of their own somewhat less than harmless product. They've gone ahead and placed a ban on its use, saying in effect, that a woman and her doctor do not have the right to choose any treatment unless a big pharmaceutical company holds a patent on it!
